Thematic areas

Members of the TWG have proposed a number of thematic areas to focus discussions and lead on activities throughout the year. These will be further discussed at the Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Cape Town at the end of September 2014.

The eight proposed areas include:
  1. Health and microfinance, Matthew Osborne-Smith
  2. Transport and logistics, Kameko Nichols, South Africa
  3. Clinical networks, Tarry Asoka
  4. Role of private sector in fragile states/conflict areas, Juan Carlos Negrette, USA
  5. Private sector contributions to achieving UHC, Sarbani Chakraborty, Germany
  6. Informal providers, Meenakshi Gautham, India
  7. Managing pluralistic health markets to avoid anti-microbial resistance, Annie Wilkinson, UK
  8. Role of private sector in diffusion of innovations, Birger Forsberg, Sweden
Those who have proposed the sub-groups have also compiled one-page concept notes outlining the importance of the proposed sub-group as well as some of the activities it might undertake. Those are available in the document below.
